1. Maple and Cinnamon Shake Espresso Recipe (with the Royal Half-Caffeine Blend) 🍁

Inspired by the comforting flavors of maple syrup and warm notes of cinnamon, this recipe is made with the Royal Blend: for a half-caffeine drink that can be enjoyed in the afternoon, with less caffeine!

Ingredients

One double espresso (2 oz) prepared with the Royal Half Caffeine Blend

1 to 2 tbsp maple syrup;

1 pinch ground cinnamon;

1 pinch sea salt;

1/2 cup ice cubes;

200 ml milk or plant-based beverage

Steps

  1. Prepare a double espresso with the Royal Half Caffeine Blend.
  2. Pour the hot espresso into a shaker.
  3. Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, sea salt, and ice cubes.
  4. Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until frothy.
  5. Pour into a glass filled with ice.
  6. Add milk for a longer version, if desired.
  7. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon before serving.

Tip: Shaking the espresso creates a light, frothy texture while quickly chilling the drink. This step gives the coffee its velvety appearance.

2. Iced Latte with Strawberry Chilled Foam (with Confetti Mix) 🍓

Caffeinated and fruity drinks are gaining popularity during the warmer months. This recipe combines the Confetti Mix with strawberry coldd foam, creating a smooth, slightly sweet drink that's perfect for summer days!

Ingredients

For the latte:

For the strawberry cold foam:

  • 60 ml of 3.25% or 3.5% milk (or light cream)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of strawberry syrup
  • Confetti candies for garnish (optional)

Tip: You can always make homemade strawberry syrup with fresh or frozen strawberries by mixing strawberries in sugar.

Steps

  1. Prepare a double espresso with the Confetti mix and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a separate glass, prepare the cold foam by combining the milk and syrup with an electric whisk.
  3. Whisk until light and airy.
  4. Add ice cubes to a glass and gently pour in the espresso.
  5. Top with the cold foam.
  6. Garnish with sprinkles for a touch of whimsy!

Tip: If you don't have an electric whisk, try our technique using a French press to make cold foam!

3. Cold Brew & Lemonade Recipe 🍋

Cold brew lemonade has become a popular summer drink thanks to its refreshing qualities. The slight acidity of the lemonade balances the flavors of the cold brew coffee.

The result: a surprising yet thirst-quenching combination for hot days!

Ingredients

  • 125 ml of pre-prepared cold brew (using Confetti mix or Royal blend, as you prefer)
  • 125 ml of homemade or ready-to-drink lemonade
  • 1 cup of ice cubes;
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  2. First, pour in the lemonade.
  3. Slowly add the Cold Brew to create a layered visual effect.
  4. Garnish with a lemon slice, then stir gently before drinking.

Tip: Prepare your Cold Brew the night before so it can infuse overnight in the refrigerator. We recommend letting the coffee rest for at least 12 hours before drinking it. For more details on how to prepare cold brew coffee, check out our blog post on the subject!

Whether you prefer a rich maple espresso, a fruity drink, or an ultra-refreshing coffee, these three recipes inspired by Anne-Marie Withenshaw's signature coffees make it easy to transform your coffee break for summer!

FAQs

What is the difference between an iced espresso and a shaken espresso?

An iced espresso typically involves pouring espresso over ice, while a shaken espresso is vigorously mixed with ice cubes to create a frothier texture and a better-chilled drink.

Which coffee should I choose to prepare homemade iced drinks?

Balanced or lightly fruity blends often work well for iced drinks. A semi-caffeinated coffee might be suitable for afternoon beverages, while a bolder blend can stand out better in recipes with milk.

Can these recipes be prepared with a plant-based drink?

Yes. Plant-based drinks such as oat, almond or soy can replace traditional milk depending on the desired texture and taste.

Why use Cold Brew instead of a cooled hot coffee?

Cold Brew is infused in cold water for several hours, which generally results in a more concentrated drink, particularly appreciated in summer recipes.
