With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what could be better than a homemade treat to celebrate love in all its forms? These chocolate, almond and coffee bites combine crunch and intensity in one completely decadent bite!

No-bake, these clusters are perfect alongside a cup of coffee, as a sweet ending to a romantic meal, or simply to indulge during a cozy moment at home.

Ingredients

  • 300 g (2 cups) of dark chocolate 70%

  • 80 g (⅔ cup) of whole almonds, lightly toasted and chopped

  • 40 g (⅓ cup) of dried cranberries (or other dried red berries)

  • 2 tsp of finely ground espresso

  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Coarsely chop the dark chocolate and gently melt it in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.

  2. Once melted, add the finely ground espresso and mix well to evenly distribute the flavor.

  3. Stir in the chopped almonds and dried cranberries. Mix until all ingredients are evenly coated with chocolate.

  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  5. Using a spoon, drop small mounds of the chocolate mixture onto the sheet without worrying about making them perfectly uniform. Sprinkle a pinch of salt on each cluster.

  6. Let them set at room temperature, or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.

  7. Once firm, store the clusters in an airtight container. They keep for up to two weeks away from heat and humidity, or can be frozen to extend their shelf life.

Tips

  • Swap cranberries for dried cherries, raspberries, or freeze-dried strawberries to vary the flavors while keeping the Valentine’s Day red touch.

  • Present them in a pretty box, glass jar, or clear bag tied with a ribbon for a homemade gift that’s always a hit.

These chocolate, almond and coffee clusters are perfect for indulgent breaks, Valentine’s Day gifts, or simply enjoying a cozy moment at home. A simple, quick, and utterly decadent recipe!

FAQs

Can I use a different type of nut instead of almonds?

Yes! Hazelnuts, pecans, or cashews work really well and each adds its own unique flavor.

Is espresso necessary in the recipe?

No, but it enhances the chocolate flavor. You can reduce it or omit it if you prefer a coffee-free version.

Can I use milk or white chocolate?

Absolutely. Dark chocolate gives more intensity, but milk chocolate—or a mix of both—is also delicious.

Are these clusters suitable for gifting?

Yes, they make a perfect homemade treat gift, especially for Valentine’s Day.
