In honor of our Café Show with Éliane Gagnon from Soberlab, we concocted two delicious mocktail recipes!
Mocktails, essentially non-alcoholic cocktails, are increasingly popular and are now found in large quantities on the menus of many restaurants and bars!
Whether it is to reduce your alcohol consumption or simply to enjoy your coffee in a special way, the following mocktails will certainly charm you!
Iced lavender latte
The lavender iced latte, with its fragrant and creamy taste, is simply delicious! It’s a great alternative to flavored alcoholic coffees!
Ingredients
1/2 tablespoon of lavender syrup
1/2 tablespoon of honey
1 oz of espresso
Milk or plant-based drink of your choice
Ice cubes
Lavender to decorate
Steps
Add the lavender syrup to a glass with the honey.
Fill the glass with crushed ice.
Pour the espresso shot over the ice cream.
Froth the milk or vegetable drink and add it to the glass until full.
Stir very well to incorporate the syrup into the drink.
Decorate with a sprig of lavender as desired.
Enjoy!
Trick: How to make lavender syrup
Lavender syrup can be hard to find in the grocery store, luckily it's very easy to make yourself! You will only need three ingredients; water, sugar and dried lavender flowers. Simply bring water to a boil, then reduce the heat and add the same amount of sugar, as well as a good quantity of dried flowers. Leave to infuse for ten minutes, then filter everything, let it rest, and that's it!
Grapefruit espresso tonic
Grapefruit espresso tonic is a perfect alternative to the classic alcoholic espresso tonic. Its fresh and refreshing taste will definitely please you!
Ingredients
1 oz of espresso
Approximately 150ml of tonic
1 sprig of thyme
½ tablespoon of pink grapefruit syrup
Ice cubes
Steps
Place a sprig of thyme in a large glass.
Pour in the pink grapefruit syrup.
Add the ice cubes.
Then pour in the tonic to fill 3/4 of the glass.
Add your dose of coffee.
Mix everything using a straw.
Enjoy!
