Here’s an original recipe for an Iced Cherry Latte: fruity, decadent and refreshing — the perfect drink for the warm season!
Ingredients
For the Iced Latte:
- A double espresso (2 oz)
- 200 ml of cold milk (or plant-based beverage)
- Ice cubes
- 2 tbsp. of homemade cherry purée (see below)
- 1 tsp. of vanilla syrup (optional)
- Fresh cherries (for garnish)
For the Cherry Purée:
- Pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
For the Cherry Cold Foam:
- 35% cream
- Cherry Purée
Preparing the Cherry Purée:
- Wash and pit the cherries.
- Mash the cherries with a fork or a pestle to release their juice.
- Set aside 2 oz of the purée for the cold foam.
Tip: Blend the purée for a smoother texture. Strain through a sieve if needed.
Preparing the Cherry Cold Foam
1. Whip ½ cup of 35% cream with 2 oz of the cherry purée until thick and creamy.
Preparing the Iced Latte:
- Brew an espresso in a small cup or espresso glass and let it cool slightly.
- In a large glass, add ice cubes, 2 tablespoons of homemade cherry purée, and (optionally) 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup.
- Pour the cold milk over the ice and purée mixture.
- Slowly pour in the cooled espresso to create a layered effect.
- Top with the cherry cold foam and a fresh cherry.
Enjoy!
