You’ve probably seen our video on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, and we can confirm that the rumours are true! This new frozen drink is bound to be a summer staple.

With its creamy and velvety texture, the aerocano is reminiscent of a nitro cold brew or even a stout. For this, however, there is no need for pressurized nitrogen. All you need to make this drink, other than an espresso machine and a milk frothing pitcher, is water, and ice. It’s basically a chilled foamed americano. We were pleasantly surprised by how incredible the texture is. Most definitely a good choice on any scorching summer afternoon!

Ingredients

  • 1 short double espresso

  • 120 mL to 150 mL cold water

  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Add water and ice in the milk frothing pitcher.

  2. Pull a short double espresso into a cup.

  3. Once pulled, pour the espresso into the pitcher containing the ice and water.

  4. Foam for 6 to 12 seconds with your espresso machine’s steam wand. Use the same technique that you would for making microfoam with milk. Make sure to do it quickly as this is a cold drink, and you don’t want the pitcher to get hot.

  5. Once foamed, pour the liquid into a glass containing ice. And that’s all there is to it!
