It’s officially apple season and there’s nothing better than a delicious apple crisp to get you into the fall mood! So we decided to share with you our version of this season’s classic; our Espresso and apple crumble!

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, peeled and cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup coffee bean-infused maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup 35% cream
  • 1 short double espresso
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (for crunch)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Steps

  1. Prepare the apples by peeling and chopping
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  3. In a pot, add the maple syrup, 35% cream, double espresso and brown sugar.
  4. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  5. Pour this mixture over the apple pieces placed in a square mold (approximately 8x8 inches).
  6. Leave to rest

Preparing the crumble

In a bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and melted butter.

Mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Cooking/ Assembling

Spread the crumble mixture evenly over the prepared apples.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350°F (180°C), or until the top is golden and crisp.

Once cooked, let cool slightly before serving.

Serve as is or with a scoop of ice cream or a little cream on top, whichever you prefer.

Now Enjoy!
