CANADA POST - Shipping delays - More info

It is a well-known fact that coffee and chocolate are a match made in heaven! When we were searching for a master chocolatier to make our chocolate-covered coffee beans the AGORAlliance organization put us in contact with Gogbeu and Lydie, at Amango Cacao. Not only did we fall in love with their chocolates (which are all absolutely delicious), we also fell in love with this passionate couple who love cacao beans as much as we love coffee beans! We love them so much we want to introduce you to them!

The History of Amango Cacao

Ivory Coast natives Lydie and Gogbeu both worked in the cacao industry in West Africa before immigrating to Canada and creating their company: Amango Cacao, in 2018. Since then, they have been creating rich and flavourful chocolates made with Ivory Coast cacao beans in the heart of Rosemont, in Montreal.

The heart of their mission is to get people to discover the Ivory Coast cacao bean and showcase it through their products, but also to get to know the human beings that play a large part in bringing it to you. The couple sources their beans from carefully selected cooperatives and farming families to support local workers and treat them fairly. The importance of the person behind the product is paramount for Gogbeu and Lydie.

The Amango Cacao Chocolate Creation Process

The taste profile for the entire cacao bean starts with the growing region, the soil, the climate, and the harvesting method. The owners of Amango Cacao use the aromatic profile of the roasted cacao beans as their inspiration when developing their products, all of which are made with organic and fairtrade ingredients. Also, they only add unprocessed local ingredients to the cacao, such as maple syrup!

Chocolate-Coated Cremone Beans

Lydie and Gogbeu jumped into this project with both feet, and with all the love and passion they put into their own products, helping us bring to life our vision of making small bags of chocolate-coated coffee beans! Now, still in collaboration with Amango Cacao, we offers these little treats in three different flavours: 74% dark chocolate, blueberry coconut, and maple and sea salt! Flavourful and rich, they are made with our star espresso beans: Cremone! And so many of you have told us how much you love them! If you haven’t tried them yet, we recommend tasting them with your favourite coffee!

We love this type of project and developing new products, our entire coffee gang is very proud of this collaboration with Gogbeu and Lydie. It is always a huge pleasure to work with people with such heart.

You can find Amango Cacao on their website, Facebook, and Instagram!
